Milly Jo Merkert
Yoga Teacher
I came to Yoga after having a gastroenterologist recommend yoga and meditation to me as part of my healing. Very forward thinking for the 90's. I was hooked the very first in person class I took. I found freedom on my mat. Choice.
I began instructing in 2003, received my first certification in 2005. For 20 years, I have been teaching, right here in our community. Like all of us, I have had quite the ride, full of highs, lows and the transitions between. I've been a lot of sizes, dealt with injuries, and felt all the emotions. Through it all, I have had yoga and the beautiful people who have practiced alongside me. My experience with yoga is now being validated by research into the powerful healing that can occur with a regular practice. I feel so fortunate to have fallen into Yoga, it has been an anchor for me, a reminder that I have the ability and power to make decisions.
My goal is to offer freedom in my classes. Freedom to be in your own body, feel your own breath, move at your own pace, and chose your own intensity. The freedom to be patient and compassionate with yourself. Lastly, I hope to help others relax, not just inside the class, but outside of it as well.
My intention is to continue to grow, learn, practice, and love.
Heather Sheets
Reiki Master, Energy Healing Practitioner, and Sound Practitioner
Heather's world was nudged open nearly 15 years ago when she discovered Reiki through a private practice massage therapist. Profound experiences led her down a path of self-discovery, but it wasn't until her father passed away in 2017 that her world began to palpably shift. It was during this time of untangling that sound became the forefront of focus, leading Heather to peace, joy and vocal freedom. Her path always leads her back to quiet places within, lapping up moments of stillness that bring balance and serve as a reminder of our innate, authentic being.
Heather is a certified Sound Healing Practitioner, a Usui Reiki Master, Native American-style flute teacher, Medicine Drum Birthing Facilitator and Andean Shaman Practitioner.
Heather looks forward to sharing heart-felt experiences that have transformed the way she moves and interacts with the world around her.
